The aim of the workshop is to discuss the radial expansion of the solar wind, its heating, the acceleration and transport of energy, as indicated by the name of the workshop, SOlar Wind Heating, Acceleration & Transport (SoWhat). We will discuss the solar wind structure on large scales, its origin in relation to coronal structures, non-thermal behavior of charged particles, physical processes such as magnetic reconnection and turbulence in space plasmas.
The workshop is oragnised as follow-up of the PHD thesis defence of Etienne Berriot 1/12/2025, for which Prof. Marco Velli (UCLA), A.Prof. Lorenzo Matteini (Imperial College, London) and Petr Hellinger (IAP Prague) are comming to Paris Observatory. Moreover, Prof. Stuart Bale (SSL, Berkley) and Prof. Eduard Kontar (Univ. Grasgow) are visiting professors in Paris Observatory at the same time. To take advantage of the presence of all these experts in space scince in Meudon, we organise this mini-workshop of 2 days.
