We are pleased to organize a one-week school on gamma-ray astronomy at Paris Observatory, designed for PhD students/postdocs/researchers wishing to learn about gamma-ray astronomy data and the specific challenges of ground-based Cherenkov observations and analysis of high-energy data from a variety of sources (Galactic/extragalatic/transient).
The Gammapy scientific analysis tool, chosen by/for the international Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory (CTAO), will be presented.
The school will be structured in two parts. The first part will be devoted to an introduction to data processing appropriate to different scientific problems, with multi-wavelength and multi-messenger (neutrinos/cosmic rays) aspects also covered. A second part devoted to practical work (beginners and experienced users).
Data from other gamma-ray observatories (Fermi-LAT/MAGIC/VERITAS/H.E.S.S./HAWC) will also be discussed. Classes and practical work will take place at two Paris Observatory sites, in Paris and Meudon
The program and the registration page are available on this web page: https://indico.obspm.fr/event/2480/.
